** NEW ** Updating your Aware GPS the easy way
Please ensure that you have the Aware System Updater installed on your computer; This can be downloaded by clicking here.
1) Please sign in at the top right using your username and password (you should have got these when you registered your unit)
2) Once logged in, click ‘Customer Downloads‘ (top right of the web page)
3) You will see two options for the download. The first is to update only the airspace, the second is a full software update including the latest airspace. The Airspace Only option is the one you should most commonly use.
4) On the first option click the Download button, you then be presented with a dialogue box asking you to select the location to save the airspace to. Airbox suggests saving the download to a memorable location such as your computer’s Desktop.
5) Once the download is complete Take your Aware device and turn it off (if it’s turned on), eject the SD card (the plastic data card in the side of your device) and pop it into your computer either by using an SD card reader into an available USB slot or directly (if your computer has its own SD card compatible slot).
6) Start the Aware System Updater program
7) Click through the agreements. You will then be presented with two white boxes with buttons to the right of these. The top box should have ‘Browse’ next to it; This box is used to locate the airspace file. Please click here and locate where you previously saved the airspace update. Once you’ve found the saved file, press ‘open‘
8 ) The second box with ‘Refresh‘ alongside it is used to tell the program where you want to install the airspace update. Click the ‘Refresh‘ button to instruct the software to look for suitable places to save the airspace update such as an SD card. Click the little arrow on the lower box to reveal a drop down menu listing all available places to save the airspace update. The list should show a location for the attached SD card. Select it and then click ‘update‘.
9) The update will now take place and should take no longer than 5 minutes; Be sure not to click anything until you are told that the update is complete.
10) Eject the SD card from your computer and pop it back into your unit. Your airspace update should be complete and your device ready to use.
